Trinity SELT B1 English Exam Preparation


Career Bridge Academy provides the preparation of B1 Exam English Language Tests (SELTs) for family route and work visa applicants.


Career Bridge Academy is B1 training centre in Southall, London area and Birmingham areas for UK Citizenship exam that is Trinity SELT B1 English Course in Speaking and Listening for Indefinite Leave to Remain and British Nationality or British Passport. Our experienced language instructors make individual learning plans to suit all ages, levels, interests and learning needs.

At Career Bridge Academy we specialize in offering English language courses which lead to an approved B1 'Skills for Life' qualification. Upon completing the B1 training course you can be ready for B1 Exam. If in case you fail in the exam, we will re train you until you get passed. During the course you will be provided with helping videos for passing the exams.

Pre-requisites for the test

Requirements made for Indefinite Leave to Return (Settlement / Naturalisation) applications, received by the Home Office are as mentioned below:

  • Applicant has to pass out  the Life in the UK Test  and
  • Have a B1 {Graded Examinations in Spoken English} speaking & listening qualification at CEFR or higher level.

Examination Information

B1 Exam: It has two phases:

  1. Phase I consists of discussion on the prepared topic like hobby, family, home, country chosen by the applicant itself that lasts for 5 minutes. On the completion of the topic given by the examiner to Applicant will be ended up by the discussion held by the examiner.
  1. Phase II: Conversation is held between the Applicant and the examiner. In this phase, applicant has to show his verbal skills by representing his knowledge and gets an opportunity to exchange information routine topics. Conversation consists of a discussion on two of the subject areas related to daily life activities. Applicant has to talk on two of the topic as mentioned below:

B1 Exam Assessment

We will start with an initial assessment to find out what your current level of English is in order to identify the areas that you need to develop. Once the assessment has taken place we tailor make a b1 training plan that works for you.

This is only the beginning of your journey to gain that much sought after visa, be it the British Citizenship, Indefinite leave to Remain or Visa Extension.

You will be continually assessed by your teacher throughout the b1 training programme and provided with up to date progress reports. When you are ready to sit your exam you will be offered the opportunity to do so. Normally 95% of our candidates are ready to sit their B1 exam after 1-2 weeks of training.

Requirements for B1 Exam

For your first visit to our b1 English centre you will need to bring:

  • Passport/Residence permit
  • Recent proof of address
  • 1 Passport size photographs

An internationally recognized certificate will help secure your future here in the UK. All of our courses are used as one of the requirements for applicants applying for either the indefinite leave to remain, British citizenship or the A1 spouse visa.

B1 qualifications are even considered by employers and educational institutes as a proof of English language skills.
